Ronald Winans

The name Winans is synonymous with great singing and soul-stirring songs. Ronald Winans captured the hearts of listeners while singing with his brothers, Marvin, Carvin and Michael, better known as “The Winans”. The award-winning Quartet was introduced to the music industry by gospel legend, Andrae Crouch, in the early 80's. Between the years of 1981 to 1995 they went on to release ten projects, which garnered them a myriad of accolades and awards. An Anthology of The Winans favorite recordings was released in 2002.

Being a lover of choirs, Ron decided to stretch his talents in between projects and soon gave birth to his own productions. Since the inception of hisRon Winans Family & Friends recordings he now wears an extra hat, that of a producer. The Family and Friends CD series has served as a great platform for tapping into new talent and educating artists about the music industry. Since the release of the first album in 1988, which garnered the Grammy Award winning“Abundant Life” by Bebe Winans, Ronald has expanded the recording aspect to include daily workshops, evening services, along with a new talent showcase.

“There is a lot of untapped talent in our midst, and these workshops and services are designed to help aspiring artists to learn every facet of the industry, says Winans.” The Family & Friends series have not only featured family members: BeBe, CeCe, Marvin, Carvin & Debbie, but have also highlighted such world renowned gospel artists as Donnie McClurkin, Karen Clark-Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Pastor Darrell Hines & Kayla Parker. His latest effort Family and Friends 5 was recorded live in Detroit , MI on May 30 th with a release date of January, 30 2005 .

This five time Grammy winner, almost saw it all come to an end back in 1997 when he experienced a massive heart attack. The news of Ronald's illness spread throughout the U.S. and abroad, after the request for prayers was announced on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The Winans family received innumerable calls from pastors, churches, music ministers and friends, all relaying the same message that they were praying.

“I thank God for the saints that began praying immediately, time was a major factor, and I know it was the prayers of the believers that moved the hand of God on my behalf. I will forever be grateful to the prayer warriors for standing with me, and my family.”

Winans has been traveling the world sharing the story of his miraculous recovery; his life is a living testimony of the healing power of God. Ronald is often asked to minister the spoken word, sing or conduct music workshops/seminars in churches worldwide.
