Interviews
Actress Brieanne Jansen- Kit Kittredge: An American Girl
Interview By
Rhonda Ridley
Talk about faith. How does a little girl go from being held hostage with her family to landing a role in one of the largest film of the summer?
Simply, she believes in God.
Brieanne Jansen, an eleven-year old devoted Christian, is debuting in this summer's fantastic family film KIT KITTREDGE: AN AMERICAN GIRL starring Abigail Breslin.
When Brieanne auditioned she was not sure she would get the part but was soon pleasantly surprised to find out she was absolutely perfect for the role. As we talked, very early, in the morning last week, Brieanne was bright-eyed, eager and very excited about sharing everything from her faith to her favorite music. She was a complete delight to speak with.
RR: Good Morning Brieanne. I know it’s quite early, so I won’t keep you long.
BJ: Good morning Rhonda. No big deal, I getting used to being up for early interviews.
RR: Okay. So, I just get started.
RR: I was told that you’re a Christian, I love to hear about young people who are Christian who are eager to discuss their faith. What does your Faith mean to you?
BJ: My faith is very important to me. It’s strong because when I was held hostage in 2001 the hostage taker dropped his gun and because my mom was preparing dinner, there were knives lying on the counter, and he never reached for them. My mom, my brother and my life was saved that day. Since then, I have learned to put all my faith in God, and to completely surrender to His ways – even when I don’t know why He brings me to some places.
RR: A while back, a friend of mine sent me a cute quiz that helps you identify which book of the Bible my character is most like. I found out that my character I like the book of Psalms. Which book do you think your’s is most like?
BJ: I think it would be the book of Genesis. I just love the creation story and the story of new life. But One of my favorite verses of all time is “With God All Things Are Possible” – Mark 10:7.
RR: What inspired you to try out for the Kit Kittredge movie?
