Gary Anglin Biography
Nothing inspires worship like a heart that has experienced the grace of God. Trials of life are a great motivator to create a concert of praise from a heart of gratitude. When Gary Anglin sings “Give Him All The Praise,” the song reflects a heart filled with appreciation for God’s work in his life – a life Gary knows is on God’s time. Gary is no stranger to significant health issues. God brought him through those trials, but the biggest challenge was yet to come.
A diagnosis of cancer strikes at the core of any patient who hears those dreaded words. For Gary, it was in 1999 that the doctor told him that he had spots on his liver, and said it looked like cancer. Indeed it was, and he put Gary on chemo. The treatment was awful, so Gary chose to place his life totally in God’s hands, a faith fueled by his previous brushes with physical crisis. Not telling anyone about the diagnosis – or his decision, he continued to lead worship – resting on the Isaiah 53 text that offers the assurance that we are healed by His stripes.
In 2000, when Gary returned for a check-up, the cancer was gone. “There is healing when we worship, focusing on God rather than our circumstance. We can be set free from fear and trust in what God has for us. Without question, the enemy tried to discourage me, but there is no discouragement in the midst of praise. God meets us there. When I lead worship, I challenge people to lay aside their concerns, no matter what, and rest in God in worship. For me, that is not an empty phrase – I have lived it.”
It is from this experience that comes Gary Anglin and the Voices of CCC.
“My desire is to help people get deeper into worship and experience the presence of God in their worship." Gary says. His self titled, debut CD - Gary Anglin and The Voices of CCC on Eagle Records (Red) - is making that desire happen. When the debut album released in September 2003, it entered the CRW SoundScan chart at #1 and Billboard at #3, remaining in the top 50 for 6 weeks – unheard of for a debut artist.
