Dallas, TX - Today, Urban Choice Media, Inc., the positive programming content provider and owner of the new Rejoice! Musical Soul Food, officially named Willie Mae McIver as its Vice President of Radio Programming. Officials of the company which took over the operation of Rejoice on August 1, 2006 from ABC Radio Networks, desired to retain the services of the award-winning Rejoice staff, including the original visionary for the network, Ms. McIver.

“Not only is Willie Mae legendary in Gospel circles, she is a talented and knowledgeable programmer who did an excellent job in managing the seamless transition of Rejoice from ABC Radio Networks to Urban Choice Media,” says Travis Mitchell, president and CEO, Urban Choice Media. “We are extremely blessed to have an individual of her character and integrity to be a part of our team. It is an honor to work with her.”

Ms. McIver has over 26-years of experience as a radio broadcaster. She launched the nation’s first live nationally syndicated Gospel Music Radio program, Gospel Inspirations and was the creative force behind ABC Radio’s launch of Rejoice in 1999. She is a member of the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame. McIver received a Stellar Award for the 1999 Gospel Announcer of the Year and The Gospel Music Workshop of America’s Gospel Announcer of the Year for 2000.

“I started this journey in radio over 26 years ago and God has never ceased to amaze me” says McIver. “I am excited about what the future holds for Urban Choice Media. We are working to expand our product line of faith-based programming and will be unveiling our new plans in the months ahead.”

Rejoice! Musical Soul Food, a 24-hour national urban gospel radio programming satellite service, provides a mix of today’s contemporary hit Gospel blended with traditional classics, and is targeted to African-Americans aged 25 - 54. Rejoice inspires its listeners through Gospel music from contemporary artists like Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Smokie Norful, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams, along with legends such as Shirley Caesar and James Cleveland.
