Fred Hammond Continues To Top The Chart with “Somethin’ ‘Bout Love” at No.1 For 11 Straight Weeks, While Verity Artists Account For 5 Slots In The Top 10 On BILLBOARD’S TOP 40 GOSPEL CHART

New York, NY – Verity Records enjoys another stellar week of Chart-Topping hits, maintaining its domination of Billboard Magazine’s Top 40 Gospel Chart, holding on to five out of the Top 10 positions for the second straight week. Although, spurred on by brand new releases from Gospel mainstay’s John P. Kee and Twinkie Clark, it’s music icon Fred Hammond who has held the Number 1 slot for 11 weeks in a row. Rounding out this week’s five chart-toppers are the WOW GOSPEL 2004 gold-certified compilation and the smash breakthrough album “Out The Box” from Tonex.

Heralded as his best album ever, FRED HAMMOND, a perennial Gospel favorite, is enjoying his 4TH Number One album of his career with the release of “SOMETHIN’ ‘BOUT LOVE,” which entered in the top slot on both the Gospel Chart and the Contemporary Christian Chart when it was released in early June. The much anticipated release has remained in the top slot on the Gospel chart and was catapulted early this year with the smash song “Celebrate (He Lives).”

Last week, fantastic new albums from John P. Kee, “The Color Of Music,” and Twinkie Clark, “Home Once Again … Live In Detroit” debuted on the chart at numbers 3 and 9 respectively. This week, both maintain their positions on the top half of the chart and continue to gain momentum. John P. Kee offers his most innovative release to date, “The Color Of Music.” The concept simply means that music, to him, has no bounds and it reveals all the wonderful tones and highlights possible in Gospel music. Twinkie Clark is the much heralded “mastermind” of the legendary Clark Sisters, the Gospel female group that revolutionized contemporary Gospel music as we know it. A celebrated organist; Twinkie Clark, is a living heritage of music history and an expansion of a legacy that began over 40 years ago by her mother Dr. Mattie Moss Clark … She is the personification of Gospel music.
