By Robin Caldwell Author: Frederick K. C. Price

The father of the Word of Faith movement, Reverend Dr. Frederick K. C. Price, the senior pastor of Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, California, has written some 50 books and sold more than 2.1 million copies since 1976. That’s an impressive record for Dr. Price who has just released Answered Prayer Guaranteed! The Power of Praying with Faith (Charisma House).

In Answered Prayer’s first few pages, Dr. Price writes, “When you pray in faith, God immediately gives you what you prayed for – in the spirit realm …” And in the remaining 200-plus pages, he explains what it means to pray in faith, a concept most human beings cannot wrap our brains around.

Face it, prayer is a major mystery for most Christians who think you have to either sound like the King James Version of the Bible or you have to be God’s second cousin to be heard. We don’t understand that there are different types of prayer, ways to approach God in prayer, or that there are prayer tools – the chief of which is the Bible.

Dr. Price seeks to demystify prayer and praying in faith with thoughtfully constructed chapters and sections. He writes in a very easy-to-follow and comprehend manner that is similar to his manner of teaching. You can almost hear Dr. Price’s warm yet authoritative voice in every word.

My favorite passages involved deep discussion on the condition of a believer’s heart when praying in faith. Pride, presumption, ignorance of God’s nature and His Word, and unconfessed sin are roadblocks to answered prayer. Dr. Price does an excellent job of explicating the roadblocks and the ways to remove those obstructions.

Prayer is not only a believer’s pipeline to God to ask Him for provision but to remain in constant communion. Answered Prayer is a wonderful tool and/or supplement to a Bible study on prayer. At the end of each chapter is a section available to jot down notes and write prayer reflections.
