Patricia Shirley’s "In This Time" Nominated for Juno Award

Toronto, ON Canada - Sereniti Records vocal sensation and Toronto native Patricia Shirley has been nominated for a 2006 Juno Award – Contemporary Christian/ Gospel Album of the Year – for her debut release, In This Time. The Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the American Grammy Awards, are presented annually by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) to recognize artistic and technological achievement in the Canadian music industry. Patricia’s music continues to find new audiences and achieve major milestones – she received a 2005 Canadian Urban Music Award for Gospel Recording of the Year for her single Real Love – as her artistry propels her into the elite vocalist category.

The 35th Anniversary presentation of the Juno Awards will be televised live on Sunday, April 2nd from Halifax, Nova Scotia. A list of past winners of Canada’s most sought-after music award reads like a Who’s Who of legendary artists – Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Avril Lavigne, Anne Murray, Alanis Morrissette, Shania Twain, Nickelback and k.d. lang and are all Juno recipients – and showcases the diversity of talented artists that the Canadian music industry has produced.. Patricia Shirley, a dynamic artist whose versatility, broad range and soaring vocals bring audiences to their feet every time she sings, is poised to take her place among a select group of top vocalists in today’s music industry.

Patricia Shirley, who was also nominated for a Covenant Award by the Canadian Gospel Music Association in 2005, has been singing since age 4, having honed her vocal skills in the churches and choirs of her hometown Toronto. Patricia, whose style of music is not subject to traditional boundaries such as category, culture or genre, has appeared in movies, on television and in concert halls and churches, internationally. She has shared the stage with such artists as Celine Dion, Fred Hammond, Sean “Diddy” Combs, BeBe and CeCe Winans and Donnie McClurkin. While this is the first Juno Award nomination for this multi-faceted artist, it is certain not to be the last.
