Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers Bid Farewell With the Release Of “Finale”

Lawrence and the 34-member Tri-City Singers (so-called because they hail from the cities of Spartanburg, Gastonia and Charlotte, will bring the curtain down on this chapter in his gospel music career with an ambitious multi-city promotional tour in support of “Finale” and the first single, “The Blessing of Abraham.” Beginning April 1, Donald Lawrence & the Tri-City Singers will undertake a “Go Get Your Inheritance” tour in Chicago, featuring a full concert performance at Pastor Bill Winston’s Living World Christian Center Church, a Sunday morning performance at Salem Baptist, as well as, a special Music Experience showcase at the famed Du Sable Museum. Other stops in this month-long tour include cities such as, Nashville, Washington DC, Baltimore, Greensboro, NC (a special appearance at the Gospel Announcer’s Guild) and Los Angeles. Returning to their roots, Donald Lawrence & the Tri-City Singers will make a special Wal-Mart in-store appearance in Gastonia on Sunday, April 9.

Other events include appearances on BET “Lift Every Voice”, the Gospel Music Channel, and a performance airing April 9 on TBN to name a few.

Such uplifting songs as “Personal Friend,” “Giants,” “When Sunday Comes,” “Cast Your Cares,” “Stranger,” “You Are an Heir” and the current chart-topping single, “The Blessing of Abraham” closes a 15-year collaboration. And joining Lawrence and the Tri-City Choir are such superstars as Walter Hawkins, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Karen Clark Sheard. The Stellar Awards-winning choir’s “Finale” will also include a Limited Collectors Edition box set that incorporates Two CD’s, Two DVD’s, a 12 page booklet of lyrics and liner notes written by Lawrence which highlights this historic occasion, as well as, two exclusive bonus audio tracks. Recorded in November, 2005, “Finale” captures one of the most important choirs in gospel music history, and brings to a resounding close a glowing chapter that ultimately opens the door to even more possibilities.
