  2006-03-27

Martha Munizzi stunned the gospel community a couple of years ago with her CD, The Best Is Yet To Come. With her soulful voice and worship driven music, she became an overnight sensation with the gospel community. Munizzi shows no signs of letting up with the release of her brand new project, No Limits. Released on March 14th, the project has rocketed to the number #1 spot on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart for the week of April 2, 2006. The double-CD, her first project distributed by Integrity/Columbia, moved over 16,000 units and claims the #2 spot on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and #60 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.

The live, 22-track CD showcases Munizzi in rare form. Munizzi tapped producer Noel Hall, notable musician and former musical director for Fred Hammond, for the new CD, No Limits Live. The hit song and title tune of the album No Limits, is a mesmerizing, declarative anthem for the Christian community. Other powerful tracks include the affirming Till The Walls Fall and the breathtakingly beautiful What He’s Done whichreflect the overwhelming theme of the CD – nothing is impossible with God.

Munizzi is currently on a promotional tour for No Limits which has included a ground-breaking, phenomenal performance at the famous Apollo Theatre in New York City with CeCe Winans on March 16th and a guest appearance on Chicago’s Superstation WGN Morning Show on March 21st. Other upcoming performances include a guest appearance at America’s largest military base at Fort Hood in Austin, Texas and at Wal-Mart’s Supercenter in Atlanta (Stone Mountain, GA). In addition to radio, retail and television appearances on TBN and BET’s Lift Every Voice, her promotional tour also includes stops in Washington DC, Dallas TX, and Charlotte, N.C.

Munizzi, hailing from Florida, initially gained recognition as a songwriter penning the popular praise anthem Because Of Who You Are, recorded by Vicki Yohe. After 3 successful independent albums, she broke gospel music history by becoming the first non-African American to walk away with a Stellar Award in 2005, an award she earned for Best New Artist. In this year alone, her first independent project, Say The Name, earned a 2006 GRAMMY Award nomination for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album and she received a 2006 Stellar Award for Special Event CD of the Year for her Christmas CD, When He Came.
