Los Angeles - Axiom Records will release Freda Battle & The Temple Worshippers’ sophomore project, “Here Is Our Praise” on June 27th through Comin Atcha Distribution via Brody/SONY-RED. Battle’s album, produced by Grammy-nominated, Stellar, Dove and Soul Train award-winning artist, Israel Houghton, will include a series of praise and worship songs that will appeal to both Gospel and Contemporary Christian music consumers. The first radio single, “Here Is Our Praise” will be serviced in May. Print and electronic media will also be serviced in May along with having access to an online press room to download music snippets, jpegs and biographical material for the group. Joe Langham, C.O.O. of Axiom says, “I’m very excited about Freda’s new release and we are expecting great things from this project.”

Houghton brings to the table years of experience writing and producing hit worship singles that cross racial, age and denominational barriers. His talents have garnered scores of hit radio singles on the Gospel and Contemporary Christian music charts. He is also a guest worship leader at Lakewood Church, in Houston, Texas— the largest church in North America.

Ms. Battle says, “What I love about Israel is his sensitivity to my songwriting; taking my songs and adding his anointed hit making sound so that you know it’s Israel, but also maintaining the sound and integrity of Freda Battle & The Temple Worshippers. We are so blessed that the Lord sent Israel Houghton our way.”

Ms. Battle is the Minister of Music at Jubilee Christian Church, one of the largest churches in Boston, MA and the parent company of Axiom Records. In her 25+ year career in music ministry, Battle has written more than 200 songs and holds writing credits for CGI recording artist, As One, and landed two songs on the Verity Records release, “Daryl Coley Presents: Here II Praise.” Ms. Battle released her debut CD, “Serious Praise” on Axiom Records in 2002.

The Boston native has been a member of the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses for 27 years and has served on the National Music Cabinet for more than a decade. Radio announcers should note that Battle was a Boston area Gospel announcer from 1984 to 1991 on WEZE, WILD and WLVG, and she received her training from radio industry veterans, Elroy Smith and Walt Cooper.

Freda Battle & The Temple Worshippers will promote their release at the Bobby Jones Artist Retreat in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the Urban Impact Summit in Connecticut and the Chicago Southeast Gospelfest.

With the combination of Ms. Battle’s vast experience as a songwriter and worship leader, and Israel’s credits as one of today’s leading songwriters and producers, “Here Is Our Praise” will be one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2006.
