Allen & Allen Releases The First Noel

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Acclaimed inspirational Jazz duo Allen & Allen will release The First Noel Oct. 8 on Allen & Allen Music Group (AAMG). The extended play recording is a long awaited follow up to Allen & Allen’s critically acclaimed and first holiday project, Christmas Like Never Before. Specially priced, the four-track holiday CD will retail for $5.98.

The First Noel, produced by Stellar Award-winning Allen & Allen, boasts two newly recorded songs, including the duo’s special arrangement of the classic and title track. Their re-make of the popular Allen & Allen original, “Merry Christmas Jesus,” features a guest vocal appearance by Paul Porter, the lead singer of the renowned vocal quartet The Christianaires. The critically acclaimed AAMG artist 7th Element provides a vocal backdrop for Porter with its unique blend of trademark a cappella harmonies. The four-track CD also contains the urban flavored “Gloria,” and the Donny Hathaway holiday favorite, “This Christmas.”

“We’ve had so many requests for a follow-up album to the successful Christmas Like Never Before that it motivated us to record another Christmas project,” says Bruce Allen. “We hope that the mix of classic and original material will give listeners something to enjoy this holiday season.”

To launch The First Noel, AAMG will implement an aggressive radio campaign to Gospel, Christian, Jazz and NAC radio formats. There will also be postcard and catalog mailings in essential consumer markets, a strong website presence at www.allen-allenmg.com and a targeted advertising campaign. The publicity efforts will target both industry and consumer media.

In addition to completing The First Noel, Allen & Allen recently recorded their highly anticipated inspirational jazz project, Impressions, which is slated to release March 2003. As the duo’s 7th album, Impressions comes nearly two years after the release of the group’s critically acclaimed album, Love Sweet Love, and marks the two-year anniversary of AAMG. Allen & Allen will tour early next year in support of the new recording, which features the Stevie Wonder song, “All I Do Is Think About You,” and “We’re In This Love Together,” made popular by Al Jarreau. The recording also includes the soul-stirring Dallas Holm classic “Rise Again,” as well as brand new jazz-infused compositions by Allen & Allen.
