Vickie Winans’ “Woman to Woman: Songs of Life” Releases Worldwide August 8th

Gospel legend Vickie Winans is hard at work fine-tuning what is destined to go down in history as one of the landmark gospel albums of our time. A decade in the making, the thirty-song plus, double CD “Woman to Woman: Songs of Life” (Verity Records/Sony-BMG) will release August 8, 2006 worldwide. Already, thousands have pre-ordered the project as a part of Winans’ historic “I Am One of the Million” campaign to get a million copies of this awesome project in the hands of a million women and the men who love them.

The groundbreaking inspirational project deals with a variety of issues from a Christian perspective which women face and struggle with on a daily basis. The first half of the project features studio tracks by leading producers such as Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Winans’ platinum-selling son, Mario Winans, Cedric & Victor Caldwell, Steven Ford, and Vickie Winans herself. Kayla Parker, who has done background vocals for Winans since 1991, creates mesmerizing background vocal arrangements throughout the project. Winans also composed many of the songs along with contributions from Angie Winans, Brent Jones, Mario Winans, Marvin Winans Jr. and others.

The live portion of the project was hosted by Bishop T.D. Jakes and recorded before an audience of 10,000 at the House of Hope Worship Center in Chicago. Backed by an orchestra, a full choir and a phenomenal rhythm section, Winans laid down a string of heart-pounding music performances that ranged from traditional church songs, calypso praise numbers, and heart-wrenching ballads.
