Marcus Cole to Release Debut Solo Album
Write My Song Unveils on PureSprings Gospel on August 1, 2006
Nashville, TN – PureSprings Gospel has announced the debut solo release from soulful singer/songwriter Marcus Cole, Write My Song, which will hit shelves on August 1, 2006. A collection of versatile pop standards and touching traditional gospel tracks, Write My Song depicts Cole’s voyage of faith. “This album represents my journey, not just where I am today,” Cole says. “I am not chasing the elusive ‘carrot’ of earthly success, because I have discovered that my success is not in those things. My success is in God and in Him being pleased with my life.”
Boasting a sound that is unique yet universal, Cole’s music appeals to people of all ages, backgrounds and styles. “The Marcus Cole project is an uplifting presentation which takes you through many moods and feelings,” says multi-Grammy winner and NAACP Image Award winner Gerald Albright. “Marcus’ vocals are strong, refreshing and sincere throughout the experience.”
“There is nothing more powerful than a man worshipping God,” declares nine-time Grammy Award winner and President of PureSprings Gospel, CeCe Winans. “I believe Marcus Cole will be a blessing to the kingdom.”
The Saginaw, Mich. native recognized his call to the ministry at an early age and has devoted the past decade of his life to refining both his ministry and considerable musical gifts. As a respected vocalist, songwriter, musician and producer, Cole garnered the respect of his peers within the gospel music industry, but it was as a member of the seminal gospel group Commissioned that Cole’s voice was first introduced to a national audience and left its indelible mark in the hearts and minds of countless gospel music lovers.
With the release of his album still a couple weeks away, Cole has been busy ministering and performing his anointed music on the road. He recently shared the stage with gospel greats CeCe Winans and Grammy Award and NAACP Image Award winners Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams on TBN’s highly-rated flagship TV show “Praise the Lord.” Cole brought the house down as he sang his debut gospel radio single, “Bless My Soul,” as well as his first contemporary Christian single, “You’re There.”
