Sony BMG & Columbia records To release "Victory Live" on DVD
Contemporary Gospel Sensation Tye Tribbett & G.A.’s
Live Recorded Performance of Victory Coming to DVD
New York, NY - On Tuesday, September 19, 2006, Sony BMG Music Entertainment/Columbia Records, in conjunction with AXIS Entertainment Music Group and Tye Tribbett & G.A.’s Kingdom University Music, will release Victory Live on DVD. Victory Live is Columbia Records’ gospel music ensemble, Tye Tribbett and G.A.’s (Greater Anointing) concert performance that was recorded in front of a live audience at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Philadelphia on December 3, 2005. A CD of the same name was released to rave reviews by Sony Urban Music/Columbia Records in May of this year and is still in the Top 5 on Billboard’s gospel music charts. The album’s first single, also titled “Victory,” is currently the #1 song at gospel radio this week.
Victory Live captures the electrifying performance and spirit-filled ministry of Tye Tribbett and G.A. that over 5,200 people came to witness at the large, Philadelphia church that evening. It features 12 soul stirring numbers, including the hits, “Victory” and “I Want It All Back,” from the world-renowned inspirational music-makers. Other gospel superstars including Mary Mary, Israel Houghton (of Israel and New Breed) and Kim Burrell were there to fellowship and Burrell lends her talents to the song “Everything Will Be Alright” on the DVD and CD. The Victory Live DVD also offers two bonus performances, “No Way” and “Everything/Bow Before the King,” from Tye & G.A.’s debut album, Life, never before seen on DVD.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, Tye Tribbett is the son of two ministers. Surrounded by hymns and gospel music from birth, Tye began creating music at a very young age. He honed his talents as a teenager, performing with regional artists such as Steve Middleton and the Tri-State Mass Choir of the Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar.
In 1996, Tye founded Greater Anointing (G.A.), consisting of a group of friends whose hearts were set on praising the Creator through the gift of great music. From the start, Tye knew they'd embarked on a real and blessed journey. "Our first rehearsal blew my mind," he says. "The musicianship, the quality of the voices and the spirit of the choir, the character of everybody…I knew that this was it. I knew that this is what I was supposed to be doing."
