The Ron Crichlow Ensemble Shines on Contemporary Gospel Debut CD "The Path"

Los Angeles -  RCE is the Ron Crichlow Ensemble, a 12 member contemporary Gospel group of phenomenally accomplished singers and musicians who make a “joyful noise” with every praise soaked note they play and sing on their abundantly anointed debut CD “The Path” (EBL Entertainment/Baker & Taylor). The first single from the forthcoming CD “Comfort Me,” is already receiving major spins on radio and hot buzz from the many Internet sites it is currently playing on.

“Prepare yourself for a tremendous ride in a re-imagined and unique world of contemporary Gospel music. There is something in our music for everybody. Our intention is that you will take away from it a better understanding and appreciation of the wondrous works of God. We hope to remind everyone who hears our music that God has a purpose,” says RCE founder Ron Crichlow.

RCE originally was a band formed in 2001, who, with the house choir, came together to offer a musical ministry to the congregation of their church, the historic Leverich Memorial Church in East Elmhurst, Queens, NYC. The group's popularity grew so much with each increasingly well received performance, that band leader and drummer Ron Crichlow decided to formally professionalize this church band. In 2002, Ron Crichlow and his band members began the process of auditioning singers to join the ensemble full time and not just for Sunday service.

In early 2007, with the newly constituted RCE, now stocked with professional singers, Crichlow obtained a record deal for the group with Jamal Salter of EBL Entertainment (Evolutionary Business For Lasting Entertainment). Crichlow found in Salter a kindred spirit on the prowl for exceptional musical talent, who was from nearby Mount Vernon, New York. Jamal Salter is the son of music industry veteran and award winning song writer/musician William Salter, who had a very successful run in the 1970s working with the very best in the music business of that time and the ages, such as Harry Belafonte, South African superstar Miriam Makeba and Roberta Flack, for whom the senior Salter wrote, with Ralph MacDonald, the classic tune “Where Is The Love,” which Flack recorded with the late, great, Donny Hathaway to great acclaim and Platinum status.

We fervently hope that we can deliver the Good News not just to the choir of our church or those who already believe, but to reach those who don't know of God's plan for them and are in search of the higher purpose of their existence … an existence, which was only made possible through God. And He has a plan for them. Hopefully our music will inspire people to seek God's purpose for their lives,” Crichlow said.
