Virtue - Virtuosity
Verity
Get Ready to put your praise shoes on as the sisters of Virtue launch their third studio release Virtuosity - jam-packed with treats for every soul.
Virtue’s Virtuosity (say it three times) marks a triumphant return to the gospel scene for the female quartet turned trio. Comprised of sisters, original members Ebony Trotter and Karima Kibble introduce their youngest sister Heather Trotter on this versatile recording. With roots, hailing from Oakwood College (the same school that produced Grammy winners Take 6, critically acclaimed soulster Brian McKnight, and producer Mervyn Warren of Sister Act 2, The Preacher's Wife fame), there is no doubt Virtue’s talent will carry them in the same successful direction of those who paved the way.
With silky smooth vocals pleasingly displayed throughout this project, Virtue confirms the theory that "the family that sings together makes beautiful music together" a la the Clark Sisters, BeBe & CeCe Winans and Mary Mary. Their blended harmonies are so tight that their sweet and distinctive sound could only come from having similar genetic codes.
Listeners will thoroughly embrace the meditative, worshipful tone of mid-tempo songs Gotta Worship, You’ve Been Merciful and You are My Everything. However, may I direct your attention towards track #7, Till You Believe, beautifully written by Hallerin Hill and Joey Kibble of Take 6 fame (and also Karima’s husband.) Its message will minister to broken hearts and restore frayed spirits with its empowering theme of faith and hope:
I can’t give you all the things you lack...
This track produced by brothers Joey and Mark Kibble is majestic in sound, superbly arranged and vocally executed with a poignancy that makes it Virtuosity’s standout track. Tapping into an assorted basket of musical genres on this recording, the sisters seek to gain ground with an even larger audience and rightly so - after all this is gospel music.
Virtuosity is an offering of praise - high quality tunes combined with captivating and funky beats make it a must-have CD for your gospel collection.
Virtue’s pristinely clear message on this project - to proclaim their love for God and unabashedly extol His marvelous virtues around the world. I know one thing for sure - when Virtue passes through my town on the Sisters in the Spirit tour with Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams and Mary Mary, I‘ll be the first to get my ticket and sing with them because He’s Been Good.
Till you believe me and trust me to know I ‘m big enough and strong enough to be everything you need...
Till you believe.
