It’s here! The 7th installment of the WOW Gospel project hit stores in January 2004, arriving a month earlier than usual. The WOW Gospel 2004 double CD/cassette, again assembled by the collaboration of Verity Records, Provident Music Group, EMI Christian Music Group and Word Entertainment, has provided gospel music fans with back-to-back tracks featuring some of the top releases of 2003.

WOW Gospel 2004 is jam-packed with bestsellers and features several Stellar Award winners. Highlights include monster hits from Artist of the Year Vickie WinansShake Yourself Loose, Contemporary Choir of the Year Hezekiah Walker & the Love Fellowship Choir’s powerhouse ballad I Need You to Survive, and from the Traditional CD of the Year winners, Lee Williams & the Spiritual QCs, Right on Time. Gospel veterans are also represented: Shirley Caesar belts a classic Amazing Grace and Richard Smallwood and Vision minister on My Everything; as well as perennial chart-toppers Donnie McClurkin with Holy and Kirk Franklin with the smash hit, Brighter Day.

WOW Gospel 2004 offers a perfect mix of contemporary and traditional including urban tracks like Tonéx’s Doesn’t Really Matter, the popular Deitrick Haddon with Worship Medley: Joy Of The Lord/Oh The Glory, and gospel darlings Virtue with Worthy - which won’t leave the younger set feeling disappointed. Among the relative newcomers are Joann Rosario, Debra Killings and Smokie Norful, already on fire after only two years on the gospel scene. This year’s release also has several classic worship numbers like favorites, You Are God Alone by Marvin Sapp as well as the phenomenal Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers’ I Almost Let Go.

The WOW Gospel series has secured its place as a “must have” annual addition to every gospel fan’s collection. Each release has been a bestseller. Its success is no mystery, given that the producers continue delivering the best representation of the hottest gospel tracks. Hopefully, we can continue to look forward to more great compilations from the folks at WOW Gospel for many years to come!
