Musical expression is as diverse as nature. In today's gospel world, fans are being blessed by numerous groups and individuals providing their very best. Another group joins the mix and they show signs of sticking around for a long time. Kevin Jarido and the group Nu Virtu have released their newest compilation, 'I'm Free.' The CD contains an impressive list of praise and worship songs that will both bless and delight listeners.

The group and Jarido came together at Bethany Baptist Church in Linwood, New Jersey and have taken their ministry to new levels. The theme of freedom and rejoicing in the Lord is expressed throughout this musical project, but most notably on the first track, I'm Free. "Who the son sets free is free indeed!" exclaims Jarido as the group performs lyrics stating that being free of burdens and praising the Lord creates a wonderful life. With this declaration, Nu Virtu and Jarido asks the listener, are you truly free?

Following a revitalizing statement of freedom, Jarido invites God into his heart, with the Caribbean-flavored 'Come In.' The song is about praise and worship, ushering God's presence into a place of rejoicing. The song is written simply, encouraging the listener to sing along. Awesome God equally invites the listener to worship God. "Lift your hands in reverence," declares Jarido. The ballad is heartfelt and filled with the emphatic message of thanking God for the big and small things He does in our lives on a daily basis.

The theme of worship is powerful on this album, creating a spiritually rejuvenating sanctuary for the listener. Fans who adore John P. Kee, Donnie McClurkin and Hezekiah Walker will undoubtedly enjoy 'I'm Free' with Jarido and Nu Virtu. The group maintains solid vocals throughout the album. Each song is a praise song that stirs the heart to worship, the lips to worship and the body to move.

Fast-paced and traditional, He's Still Alive is an old church song sung by Sunday school children, but enjoyed by everyone. The song excitedly declares: "God's not dead/He's still alive/God's not dead/He's still alive/I feel Him in my hands/ I feel Him in my feet/ I feel Him all over me…" Jarido uniquely adds a touch of other lyrics to accompany the song.
