'God In Me' and 'Superfriend' explore the elements of a deep relationship that pull listeners closer to God.
Finding strength in God is a premise heard throughout the album. The expressive tune, 'Get Up,' invites listeners to praise God in a unique and personal way to obtain inner faith. The lyrics exclaim: 'Get up, cause you can't stop/ Get up, gotta lot to do … What are you afraid of? Don't you know what you're made of?' This song of strength is thematic on the album that proclaims how precious God's children are. "That song embodies what the whole album is about," Erica says. "It asks people, 'Why are you waiting? Why do you care what other people think?' It reminds us that your beginning can be whenever you want it to be."
The refreshing, vintage ballad, 'I'm Running,' is unquestionably one of Mary Mary's best on this memorable album. The moving lyrics speak of a heart longing to walk closer with God, and features the worship chorus, 'As The Deer.' Mary Mary's performance on The Sound brings a thrilling experience to gospel fans by including worshipful songs such as the deeply moving track, 'Forgiven Me.' Another spiritually-uplifting ballad is the peaceful, 'I Worship You.' The serene track is a prayer, inviting the Lord into the soul.
