The music is energetic, and listeners can hear live audience members worship, as they sing these words:“All of my crying days are over now/All of my weeping days/They just turned around/And now I can rejoice in Him, And with this praise, I can truly say – We’re gonna have a good time!” And good time they had! The newest album by Danny Eason, “Endurance,’ was recorded live in Montreal. The album is one of those hand-clapping, praise and worship recordings. Blending traditional sounds, with that strong contemporary choir sound Eason is known for, the album is filled with simple church songs.

This new recorded effort comes on the heels of Eason’s 2005 recording in Montreal, with his choir Abundant Life Montreal. Listeners can expect the same solid combination of invigorating rhythms backed by strong vocals. In an era with so many gospel recording artists choosing to create original tunes with unique beats, fans who favor the classical choir sound will enjoy Eason’s approach to gospel music. Eason stays true to form, leading Abundant Life on an exciting musical adventure with a traditional choir sound.

The 15-track album features tracks, such as the inspirational ballad, “Solid Rock.” The song praises God for being ever-present. Following “Solid Rock” is the big-band tunes of “Praise Him.” The song also praises God for being, “The Prince of Peace/The Supplier of my needs/The Lion of Judah/The Great I Am…” Eason has a flowing style that encourages listeners to partake in a spiritual experience. One of the tracks that encourages listeners in their spiritual walk, includes the slow-moving ballad, “I Worship You,” with lead vocalist, Sharon Jackman. The lyrics are simple and address the theme that runs throughout this album: worshipping God through good and bad times.

Eason is not a new face in the gospel industry. He has been directing choirs for years and has taken his musical ministry around the world in far-away countries like Japan. He is the driving force on this album, wearing many hats to further a musical ministry whose goal is to bless God’s people. He wrote every song, except for one, and serves as director, producer, songwriter, and also as youth pastor at Montreal’s Resurrection Center. Some of the album’s soloists include Montreal-native, Annette Moncrieffe, Yolande Spooner, and Simone Brown.
