the fight against HIV/AIDS, STD's and Teenage Pregnancy November 30, 2004--Atlanta, GA--In the interest of breaking the chain Deron Cloud (The Boyfriend Girlfriend Thang! ) and Bishop Eddie Long join forces to raise awareness of STD's, AIDS, and teenage pregnancy by hosting the production of The Boyfriend Girlfriend Thang! at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Tuesday December 7th @ 6:30p.m located at 6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia, GA 30038. According to the CDC, (Center For Disease Control) located in Atlanta, GA, as of 2003 the number of new AIDS cases were 42,745, live births to 15-19 year olds were 425,493, and as of 2001 the number of new syphilis cases were 31,575, new chlamydia cases 783,242, and new gonorrhea cases 361,705. In an effort to stop the epidemic, invitations to experience The Boyfriend Girlfriend Thang! have been extended to all middle and high schools in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The school having the most attendance will receive $3,000 from Bishop Eddie Long and will be matched by Soldiers Outreach to total $6,000. The Boyfriend Girlfriend Thang! a one-man-stage play produced, directed and starring Deron Cloud, pastor of The Soul Factory and founder of Soldiers Outreach, has propelled itself into a sought after production throughout the U.S., and in a matter of six weeks this dynamic production has reached over 35,000 people in the metropolitan Atlanta area alone. Featuring the hottest music and entertaining stage performance, Cloud goes all out to expose the schemes that women fall for causing them to make bad relationship choices. It also reveals ways to avoid being the next victim of heartbreak, teenage pregnancy and the like by promoting abstinence. Drawing crowds of thousands to major venues, it is one of several productions produced by Cloud that incorporates drama and the arts allowing him to inform and entertain communities that thirsts for a message in a today-generation language.
