Gospel Superfest 8! Live In New York

Cincinnati, OH: Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr., CEO of United Television, LLC of Ohio, announced today that in October, Gospel Superfest 8 will head back to The Christian Cultural Center in New York City, for the third consecutive year. Gospel Superfest will be held Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28, 2006 with nightly recording sessions at the mega church in Brooklyn, where the honorable Dr. A. R. Bernard is Pastor and Founder. Main stage booking for the event has begun, and new talent showcase applications will be accepted beginning May 15, 2006.

The Gospel Superfest TV Series is the most widely distributed gospel television show in domestic syndication (Source: Nielsen Media Research 2003 – 2005) and is one of the leading gospel programs distributed to Christian cable networks, including The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), The Word Network, and the Daystar TV Network. The show in syndication, (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW) reaches approximately 94 million TV households with each broadcast. The producers expect this season’s broadcasts to reach approximately 95 percent of all U.S. television households via an estimated 250 TV stations nationwide.

Brief History on GSF

Past performers and hosts of the Gospel Superfest have included some of the most notable people in the entertainment business, including, Clifton Davis, American Idol Ruben Studdard, Vivica A. Fox, Howard Hewett, Melba Moore, Jeff Majors, Karen Clark Sheard, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Tonex, Hezekiah Walker, Gary Anglin, Donald Lawrence, The Williams Brothers, Candi Staton, The Canton Spirituals, Shirley Murdock, Mom and Pop Winans, Angie Winans, Vickie Winans, Kurt Carr, Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett, Dorinda Clark Cole, The Late Dr. Charles Fold, Malissa Redmond, Keith Wonderboy Johnson, Dorothy Norwood, Trin-I-tee 5:7, and hundreds more of gospels top and mainstream performers. This year’s line-up promises to continue the show’s tradition in garnering some of the most established and promising newcomers in the field.

The Superfest was divinely inspired and created by show executive producer, Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr. in 1998 and was first implemented in 2000. Sessions have been held in, Louisville, KY; Columbus, OH; Raleigh, NC; Jacksonville, FL; and Atlanta, GA prior to landing in New York City in 2004. Noted actor and preacher Clifton Davis has served as host /co-host since the show’s inception.

This year, the three to four-hour nightly recording sessions will feature a gospel smorgasbord of music, dance, comedy, and everything in between. “Attendees will experience Gospel meets Broadway," says Dr. Cartwright. "Gospel Superfest will have an entertainment feel, but it is ministry, and it is God's word through song." We will continue to fulfill our destiny and to give praise and glory to the God of our salvation,” Cartwright further states.

This historic tapping, which will have approximately 7,000 people in attendance from all over the world, including Africa, Jamaica, Bermuda, Europe, and Canada, takes place on Friday, Oct 27th at 8:00 pm and Oct. 29th, 2005 at 7:00 pm.
