P & G’s Gospel Superfest Finalizes Line-Up with 50 national artists!

Atlanta, GA - Gospel Superfest TV producers releases the final line-up for both main stage and its new “Stage 2” recording sessions set to take place this October 26th & 27th at the newly constructed Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta.   Gospel Superfest, America’s most widely distributed TV production, continues to build equity in the television marketplace with network associations with the nation’s top Christian TV networks and major network affiliates.  The show airs in syndication on local affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and CW network stations in the nation’s top 100 markets. Along with multiple cable networks.

This year’s sessions will begin on Friday October 26th at 8:00 PM with seventeen acts taking the stage at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Centre. Scheduled for Friday night are:  Lady Tramaine Hawkins, Distinguished, J. Moss, 21:03, H., George Huff (American Idol Finalist), R & B star Regina Belle, Canton Jones, Dorothy Norwood, The Mississippi Mass Choir, Lil IROC Williams, Melvin Williams, V-3, Dwayne Woods, VaShawn Mitchell & Friends and Bishop Noel Jones’ City of Refuge Choir

The show returns to the Cobb Energy Centre on Saturday October 27th at 7:00 PM and will continue the praise party with eighteen more performers including: Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr., Ricky Dillard & New G, The Rance Allen Group, LaShun Pace, The Anointed Pace Sisters, TONEX (pronounced Toe-Nay)  Trin-I-tee 5:7, Men Of Standard, Bishop Neal Roberson, Norman Hutchins, Maurette Brown Clark, Kevin Davidson & The Voices, Entity Live (GSF New Talent Winner – 2006), Professor Wilber Belton & The Ladwec Mass Choir, James Bignon & Deliverance and others.

And if that is not enough the show has scheduled a second stage entitled “Stage 2” where an additional fifteen artists will record for TBN and The Gospel Music Channel on Saturday Afternoon.  The “Stage 2” session will be held at The Cathedral of Turner Chapel Church located in Marietta, GA an Atlanta suburb.  The session will begin with a New Talent Showcase and will be held from 12:00 Noon – 6:00 PM on Saturday October 27th.  Scheduled to appear on “Stage 2” are Ami Rushes, Jackie Nixon, Pastor Brenda Jefferson, Beau Williams (Star Search Winner) , Comedian BONE, Lionel Jones, The Mount Nebo Mass Choir, B. Chase Williams, Cherisse Stephens, Destiny Praise, Lisa Page Brooks, Lil' La La, Marla Moore and others.  “Stage 2” will be hosted by Lexi and Lonnie Hunter.  “We’ve always been gospel and we’ve always been super but this year we are definitely FEST!”  says executive producer and show founder Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr.  “This year we are truly Gospel Super-Fest!  And we hope the nation and Atlanta area gospel music fans will take advantage of the many activities we have planned for them during this great weekend.  And we thank God for this incredible stewardship.” Cartwright continues.

This year the show is adding a new awards show style and approach with the inclusion of special presentations during the Salute to Black History Month session (Saturday night), which will roll out in syndication in ‘08.  This with the additions of TV star Flex Alexander and the highly sought after minister Pastor Jamal Bryant of Baltimore, MD.  Superfest replaces last year’s co-host Vivica A. Fox with TV’s Good Times star Ben Nadette Stanis, who made history with her role as “Thelma” on the first African American sitcom were she stared with comedian /actor Jimmy  Walker and John Amos. 

Veteran actor and motivational speaker Clifton Davis of AMEN fame returns to GSF TV for the eighth consecutive year as show host.  Clifton’s thirty-year career was launched in the mid seventies as he stared in the hit series “That’s My Momma.’  His career has included a five-year run on the NBC prime time hit AMEN where he stared as the Reverend Ruben Gregory, block-buster movies including Kingdom Come, The Climb, Any Given Sunday and TV show guest appearances on almost every major network in American television including CBS’s City of Angels where he appeared with Blair Underwood and Gabrielle Union.   

Gospel Superfest “Live In Atlanta” Presented by Procter & Gamble is a must attend event!  Superfest producers have pulled out all stops to make this session live up to its billing.  “We’ve brought the nation’s top behind the scenes personnel to make sure this one is worthy of the first TV session and gospel event for that matter, to be held in this state-of the art facility”, states show producers.  Set Designer Rene Lagler (CMA’s, Grammy’s ) Lighting Designer Jeff Bornstein (TNA Wrestling, WWF) and Director Carey Goin (Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Aaron Neville videos) are slated to bring the performances to life and to tape, as this show promises to be Gospel Superfest’ best recording session ever!

Catching the shows on TV this winter!

Attendees will not have to wait long to see themselves on camera as the first episode from the “Live In Atlanta” sessions will roll out in just four weeks. Gospel Superfest Holiday 7 is slated for a November 28th through December 30, 2007 release with four additional syndicated specials and twenty-five cable episodes to follow in early 2008.  Viewers can tune in and enjoy Gospel Superfest from the comfort of their homes this winter as America’s Supershow takes to the airways just in time for the holidays.  Check TV guide and local TV listings in you area in mid November.
