New York, NY - Image Authority, Speaker, and Author, Alex Ellis launches ten-city tour campaign, Tied to Greatness for young men. Ellis will be joined by a host of mentors and distinguished men at city public schools nationwide to actively demonstrate their responsibility for this generation; defiance of mediocrity; and value of image in the lives of hundreds of young male boys. The tour kick-off will begin in Harlem with the explosive contemporary Vaudevillian group, The James Gang of John Legend’s new label, Home School. Their commanding performance will prelude a youthful fashion show; displaying innovative style concurrent with the opening of New York’s fashion week. Oprah Winfrey’s scholarship winner Messiah will deliver a poignant Spoken Word expression and Ellis will deliver a stirring address from his award-winning book, Restoring the Male Image: A Look from the Inside Out; conveying a series of qualities to help men identify and understand their I.M.A.G.E.: I=Integrity; M=Manhood; A=Authority; G=Generosity; E= Excellence. A panel of notable men such as Black Enterprise Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Alfred Edmonds, Multi-media journalist, Roland Martin, BET Correspondent and Social Activist Jeff Johnson, and more will share insight and personal testimonies on “Image & Greatness”. The day will conclude with a tie-tying ceremony, commemorating these new relationships with the symbol of their mentoring connection and rite of passage. Retailers including Men’s Warehouse, and Kwame Jackson’s Krimson (NBC’s The Apprentice) will contribute fashionable ties and each young man will receive a sponsored copy of Ellis’ book.
