Israel and New Breed Announce 2008 A Deeper Level Conference

Houston, Texas - GRAMMY® Award winning Israel and New Breed announce the 2008 A Deeper Level Conference slated for September 4-6 in Humble, Texas, just outside metro Houston. The event will be held at Grace Church of Humble located at 7224 North Sam Houston Parkway.

The three-day conference is specifically designed to equip and encourage worship leaders and team members, pastors, vocalists and musicians, as well as anyone interested in cultivating a deeper worship life. Music and ministry-specific sessions will cover a variety of topics from music theory and songwriting to production/recording and vocal techniques.

The diverse line-up of guest speakers, worship leaders and artists includes: Israel Houghton, Aaron Lindsay, Bishop Joseph Garlington, Joel Augé, Ashmont Hill, Miriam Webster of Hillsong Music and Brett Manning, famed vocal coach and guest judge for CMT Network’s “Can You Duet?”. “The Deeper Level Conference is a time of intense, life-changing worship,” says Israel and New Breed co-founder, producer and songwriter Israel Houghton. “It’s an opportunity to dive deeper into God’s presence and immerse ourselves in His deep grace, which renews and propels us to our divine purpose for the Kingdom.”

Last year’s conference included a live recording which resulted in Israel and New Breed’s GRAMMY® Award winning Integrity Music CD, A Deeper Level. This year’s event will feature a new, live recording that will take place during the Thursday and Friday evening concerts. Those who cannot attend the conference may attend the nightly concert recordings by purchasing tickets online.

Israel and New Breed are the 2008 GRAMMY® Award winners for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for A Deeper Level and the 2007 GRAMMY® Award winners for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for Alive in South Africa. They also are recipients of multiple Dove, Stellar and Soul Train Awards and have two RIAA gold-certifications for Alive In South Africa and Live From Another Level to their credit. Israel and New Breed have been featured on FOX, CBS, ABC, BET, TBN and CBN with appearances at major events and festivals including Franklin Graham crusades and Sydney, Australia’s Hillsong Conference. Group founder and co-producer Israel Houghton is a worship leader for Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston and the other members of New Breed serve within ministry roles at their respective churches.

Israel Houghton - Leader, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Israel Houghton has seen his compositions become integral components for progressive now-generation churches. This GRAMMY® and Dove Award winning recording artist, producer and songwriter challenges people all over the world to rise to a higher purpose. In addition, Israel also serves as a Worship Leader at Lakewood Church, with Pastor Joel Osteen in Houston, TX.

Aaron Lindsay – Multi-award winning producer, songwriter, musician and clinician. Lindsey, along with Israel Houghton, has co-written, produced, and birthed some of the most powerful songs used in churches today. In addition, Lindsey has written and produced for artists such as CeCe Winans, Mary Mary, Alvin Slaughter, Marvin Sapp, Micah Stampley and Martha Munizzi to name a few.

Bishop Joseph Garlington – Senior Pastor of the multi-cultural Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, PA. Bishop Garlington is an internationally recognized speaker and author as well as an accomplished musician, recording artist and scholar.

Brett Manning – Founder of Singing© which implements his revolutionary vocal techniques through seminars, workshops and a collection of CDs with basic to advanced exercises. Manning has trained some of the music industry’s most recognizable artists including Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Brian White, members of Take 6 and various cast members for Broadway shows. Most recently, Manning served as a guest judge on CMT Network’s “Can You Duet?” reality series.

Meleasa Houghton - Married to Israel Houghton for 14 years and mother of their three children, Meleasa truly has a heart for women all over the world. Her unique ability to connect and communicate in a very real way challenges and encourages women to go deeper in their walk with the Lord and in their daily life of worship. Meleasa, who co-founded Israel and New Breed, writes music with Israel, effectively communicating God’s deep Grace in each of her songs.

Ashmont Hill – Pop worship music artists with a warmth and sincerity that envelopes the listener, Ashmont Hill is an idyllic community in Boston from which a large, loving family was birth. The impetus behind their recordings is to enable listeners to cast away their cares and experience the real joy found in relationship with God and others.

Denise Graves – Worship Pastor at the multi-cultural Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, PA. Denise is a singer/songwriter who has traveled extensively with Worship International, a subsidiary of Integrity Music, as well as Maranatha Music and Saddleback Church, leading workshops across the country.

Miriam Webster – is a composer and worship leader for Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia. Her songs, including “Dwelling Place,” “Made Me Glad” and You Are Faithful” have been featured on numerous Hillsong Music CDs and are being sung in churches around the world.

Alan & Aaron Franklin – Church music workshop clinicians and founders of MuzicNet School of Music, an organization that has helped over a thousand churches to develop their music departments, train students on musical instruments and assist musicians and churches with job placement services.

David & Nicole Binion – Worship leaders at Covenant Church in Dallas, TX, recording artists and accomplished songwriters, including David’s “O For A Thousand Tongues.” David and Nicole have traveled all over the world leading worshippers into a deeper experience with the Lord.

Joel Augé – A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Augé serves as a worship leader for The Meeting House family of churches in Ontario. The bi-lingual, multi-talented songwriter and worship artist has been recording since 1999 including his latest, On the Blue. Because of his unique lyrical perspective and unforgettable delivery, many of his songs have been featured in television and movies.

Scott Jones – Co-pastor of Grace Church of Humble, Scott Jones holds a degree in Theology and is a certified Christian counselor. He has been privileged to interact with state governors and U.S. senators and also has had the opportunity to minister in other countries.

Terrance Palmer – A well known gospel musician, Terrance Palmer has performed with the likes of legendary artists Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin. A founding member of Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ, and a frequent bassist for Israel and New Breed, his latest Jazz CD is entitled Love Letter.

Kevin Singleton - Worship leader, songwriter and church worship consultant. In addition, Kevin travels the world inspiring students and young professionals to make choices today that will produce winning results for the rest of their lives.

Matthew & Lizi – This dynamic husband and wife team from Houston love to lead people to worship God and express their love to Him through songs. Their music points directly to and encourages a deeper relationship with the Creator.
