Nashville, TN – You’ve wanted a way in…here it is. Your inroads to the music career help you’ve been searching for. Need professional feedback on your music? Need to know how to release and promote your own project. Ready to use your gift, but don’t know where or how to start? Find these answers and more at this year’s Beyond Potential Urban Music Gathering in Nashville, TN on April 17-18, 2009.
Founded in 2007 by Artist/Writer/Producer Antonio Neal and former EMI Gospel A&R Brandon Egerton - the annual 2-day event is designed to empower and inspire indie artists, writers & producers and provide them with the resources necessary to take their own careers to the next level. “You know, we feel bad sometimes, says Neal, because we’ll often be approached by people who really just want some answers to their questions, need help or just want to be listened to - and in that moment, we might not have the time to give them the answers they seek in 2 or 3 minutes. This event allows us to thoroughly address those questions and actually sow into them some very valuable information” Egerton adds, “We’ve spent all of our careers, over 20 years between the two of us, contributing to and developing the genre of Urban music. Our vision was to create something that challenges music entrepreneurs to think long-term - to see this as a career and hopefully give them the resources, through relationships that we’ve been blessed with, to actually make that a reality.”
In addition to Neal & Egerton, confirmed speakers for the gathering include: EMI Gospel President - Ken Pennell (30+ year career and over 1000 albums - Smokie Norful, Commissioned, The Clark Sisters, Heather Headley), Gotee Records Co-founder & Beatmart Recordings Founder - Todd Collins (Out of Eden, DC Talk, TobyMac, Grits) and EMI CMG Label Group’s VP of Marketing & Artist Development - Leisa Byars (Steven Curtis Chapman, Mandisa, tobyMac, Chris Tomlin) among others. Topic include: Launching An Indie Label, Understanding Publishing, Digital Distribution, Healthy Eating On The Go, Creating A World Class Recording, Online Marketing, Financial Wisdom, Getting Started and much more…
