Jeff Majors and Vocalist Kelly Price Team Up on “God’s Gift”

He had been first drawn to the harp in his mid-teens, when he saw and heard himself in a dream, playing the instrument to “chase away demons.” He shared his vision with the owner of a D.C. music store who, completely unexpectedly, actually custom-built a small harp for Jeff. “An inexpressible, divine communication occurs when I'm playing the harp. Music is from and of God,” he says.

Jeff's love of music also led him to work as a deejay on a popular D.C. radio station, as he continued to develop as writer and performer. Jeff clicked in the world of radio and began climbing a ladder of success that has led him today to his position as Vice President of Gospel Programming for Radio One, Inc., one of the nation's major radio conglomerates, and as host of the top-rated, weekly Sunday Morning Joy , which features six hours of the best of contemporary and classic Gospel music.

Jeff is also beginning his third season this fall as host of the hit series, “The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors,” seen nationwide in more than 22 million homes on the network TV One on cable and Direct TV. On what is the first national, weekly Gospel variety music television broadcast in history, top contemporary artists as well as many of the biggest names in Gospel join Jeff for conversation and huge helpings of incredible music, representing the full spectrum of Gospel music, and including such genres as reggae Gospel, hip-hop Gospel and Gospel jazz, including Jeff's own singular offerings on the harp.

In addition top-billed performances in churches, auditoriums, and concert halls throughout the United States and around the world, Jeff has recently partnered with the American Cancer Society and other charitable organizations to share his music with the sick and suffering in hospitals, clinics, half-way houses, and drug rehabilitation centers. Majors' signature classic, “Psalms 23” is currently being praised throughout the nation as a staple in the Gospel/Christian community and the song that truly showcases Jeff Majors' anointed talent as a composer and arranger. Majors has performed the signature classic at a variety of events including a 9/11 tribute, weddings, funerals, music award shows and events, anniversary celebrations (Brown vs. Board of Education 50 th Anniversary Commemoration at he Constitution Center 2004), political functions and a host of other stellar events.
