The New Life Community Choir Featuring John P. Kee Releases New CD “Nothing But Worship”

New York, NY - John P. Kee is a man of the people, with a heart for God.  No stranger to the street, but with eyes toward the sky and the spirit of a born worshipper, he and his preeminent, tireless and timeless ensemble—the Charlotte, N.C.-based New Life Community Choir—have never shone more brightly than on their latest release, Nothing But Worship, being released September 4, 2007 on Zomba Gospel. 

The first single, “Right Now Praise,” embodies John P. Kee’s signature style of exuberant worship.  “Oh Lord, Our God” features Gospel icon Fred Hammond, as well as outstanding vocalists Timiney Figueroa-Canton and Nikki Ross, and offers an impassioned vocal performance evoking adoration and reverence.  Opening as a simple-but-elegant piano/vocal track, the song builds from a whisper to a roar, and a spine-tingling witness to God’s greatness that is nothing short of majestic.  Other standouts are the rousing “It Shall Be,” and the jazz infused “Forgiven.”  From start to finish, the 13-track disc showcases the strong songwriting, unrelentingly soaring vocal performances and true anointing of John P. Kee and the New Life Community Choir.

“These songs—this entire album—is not ‘Praise & Worship’ as a musical genre,” he adds. “This is not a trend, it’s not a bandwagon, and it’s not a cliché.  This is a sacred, corporate act of God’s people, offering Him a musical expression of worship and adoration.  I worry sometimes that we may be drifting too far from that fundamental understanding, and that’s something we can never allow to happen.”
