Gospel Superfest Presented by P & G Explodes in Atlanta With Fifty-Act Presentation Over Three-Days!
Atlanta, GA - Gospel Superfest “Live In Atlanta” Presented by Procter and Gamble delivered its ninth consecutive international TV extravaganza that fans and performers will talk about for generations to come. “This was the time of my life!” “I have never experience anything like this before.” “I will never forget this weekend as long as I live!” were just a few of the statements made by fans as they left the Cobb Energy Centre this past weekend. The Super Show delivered a three-day star-studded presentation that truly set a new standard for black gospel television production. The state-of-the-art production held at Atlanta’s first new theatre in forty-years, was filled with memorable performance after performance. The audience was in to it from start to finish each night as they hung on every word from their favorite gospel artists. They sang along, danced and shouted to the familiar songs and were amazed at the numerous surprise and unadvertised celebrities who graced the stage during the three-day event. From old school traditional to new school presentations, Gospel Superfest truly established itself as an undisputed leader in black gospel TV production. United Television, LLC the independent production firm behind Gospel Superfest, headed by husband and wife team Dr. Bobby and Renita Cartwright, offered a presentation that mirrored, if not exceeded, network prime-time presentations in all aspects of production while cleverly blending entertainment and ministry seamlessly throughout the event. Hit TV series’ celebrities were plenteous as Flex Alexander (One On One), Cee Cee Michaela (Girlfriends), Dawnn Lewis (Different World & Hangin with Mr. Cooper) Bern Nadette Stanis (Good Times) joined Clifton Davis (Amen) as co-hosts for this historic recording session.
The programs, slated for broadcast in national syndication and cable this winter, looked like the Oscar Awards. Audiences walked away in awe as the newly built 146-million dollar Cobb Energy Centre (originally built for the opera and symphony) became the Gospel Superfest urban church sanctuary. The shouts, praises and applause were non-stop all weekend long. It was church up in there! Gospel Superfest “Live In Atlanta” Presented by Procter & Gamble was truly a ground breaking TV production bar none. The first Gospel music event and the first TV production of any kind in Atlanta’s newest theatre in over four decades, lived up to its billing as America’s Supershow!
