Donnie McClurkin Retraction to False Media Release
So, you want to be a solider in the army of the Lord? But the question is are you truly ready for the battle.
When you sign on to be a part of that army, you must be prepared to take a stand and go the distance for what you say you believe. When God gives you a platform it's to proclaim the good news of the gospel, not to build a name, a personality or reputation for yourself. God needs us in place to be used by Him for his purpose and that calling generally is accompanied by persecution, there's no getting around that. There's no way you're going to be in a war of any kind and not experience the hostile encounter of combat and for those called to confront today's controversial issues, you must be equipped.
Recently Gospelcity received and posted a news piece regarding Donnie McClurkin's position on homosexuality that we later found out was not an authorized press release. Most of the content, however, was written by McClurkin but it was compiled as a response to various blogs that had been generated during the week that lead up to the Gospel Fundraiser in South Carolina.
The verbal attacks on his character and malicious fabrications that were written, all served as a ploy to have him removed from the concert. This attempted removal was to silence a voice that upholds a deliverance ministry.
The following is an official statement.
There is, undoubtedly, a past attached to me without question, but this is not it nor is this person telling the truth, whoever they may be. Their faceless, nameless accusations are purposeful....and the publisher of this is driven by the same agenda... to stop me and portray this to the public to be true. It concerns me greatly, hurts me deeply, but doesn't deter me.
My past has been made public by myself in many ways on many platforms and there, most definitely, are people involved in everyone's past....but THIS is not one of them. Thank you for your encouragement and support.....the gospel and my message of God's deliverance will surely continue. Those that believe this anonymous slanderous person and their contrived confession are those who either are so disappointed in the gospel community because of our blatant hypocracies and don't know what's true or what to believe anymore...which is sadly my, and our fault in many ways or those who would rather believe that this type of tabloid faceless/nameless destructive spouting is true and are glad to see me (and soon, others) in such a light....which is alright. The gospel will surely continue.
