Maurette Brown Clark & Daughter Jada Up For Stellar Awards
Jackson, MS. - Maurette Brown-Clark, affectionally called “The Princess Of Praise & Worship”is sweeping airwaves, rock-solid in her #2 position on the Hot Gospel Songs' Billboard Charts, spending many of her thirty-seven weeks at her peak position of #2 for "One God" from her debut release on AIR/Malaco, The Dream. Brown-Clark’s 2007 release One God is nominated for the Praise and Worship CD of the Year by the 2008 Stellar Award committee, while Brown-Clark herself is nominated as the Contemporary Female of the Year. Daughter Jada Simone Clark, who performed on the single “I Am What God Says I Am,” is nominated in the category of Children’s Performance of the Year. Jada was four-years-old at the time of the recording; possibly the youngest solo performance nominee in history.
The Stellar Awards will be held on January 12, 2008 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN. Hosts for this prestigious event are CeCe Winans, Kirk Franklin and Byron Cage.
