Cece Winans In Place To Co-Host the 23rd Annual Stellar Awards
Los Angeles, CA - The industry's long-time musical gem, CeCe Winans, is set to host the 23rd Annual Stellar Awards. Winans will be serving triple duty this year, as a performer and recipient of the Chevrolet Most Notable Achievement Award, in addition to her role as co-host. Joining Winans on stage in the 'hot-spot' for the gospel industry's biggest night will be co-hosts Kirk Franklin & Byron Cage. All the fun and excitement will take place at the historic Grand Ole Opry House on Saturday, January 12, 2008. The show will be taped and broadcast in syndication during the month of January 26th. After the lights are dimmed at the Grand Ole Opry, Winans will switch gears and head for her next appearance at the NFL Superbowl Gospel Concert in Phoenix, AZ. This year's line-up will include Marvin Winans, Patti LaBelle, Donnie McClurkin and the NFL Players Choir. Over the years the event has highlighted some of the industry's cream -of -the-crop singers in the gospel and R&B world.
Winans will also be on hand in Los Angeles for festivities being planned for the 50th Annual Grammy Award Week. CeCe, along with brother BeBe, is set to perform at MusiCare's Person of the Year, star-studded event honoring the incomparable, Aretha Franklin. As The Winans pay tribute to the Queen of Soul for all her accomplishments, the recording academy will acknowledge CeCe's work with a Grammy nod in the Best Gospel Performance category. A Tribute To Barbra Mandrell (BNA Records). "It's always an honor to be nominated for a Grammy and even more special when other family members are nominated as well," states Winans. This year Winans shares the Grammy recognition with brothers, Marvin and BeBe. The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS Television Sunday, February 10th at 8pm.
