Tye Tribbett and Vickie Winans Take on Hosting Duties

The Nominee Dinner and Stellar Awards Pre-Show

NASHVILLE , TN. - Gospel music’s most energized and spirited awards show arrives in Music City USA with an all-star line-up of industry heavy hitters, and the return of a glitz and glamour Red Carpet event sponsored by CHEVY. which kicks-off the Stellar Awards celebration on Friday, January 11, 2008, 6 p.m. . at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.

The Red Carpet affair will be hosted by Stellar Award winning artists – the energetic Tye Tribbett. and one of gospel’s favorite divas, Vickie Winans. The two will also take on the duties of hosting the Nominees Dinner that Friday evening at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, and the Stellar Awards Pre-Show Celebration on Saturday, January 12, 2008, 4:30 p.m. at the Grand Ole Opry House.

Tye Tribbett the son of a preacher man and a preacher woman, founded gospel choir Greater Anointing (G.A) in 1996. The group got its first break after winning first place in the national Gospel Choir Awards Competition sponsored by Wrigley's Chewing Gum. The performance caught the eye of the Grammy award-winning songwriter/producer David Foster, who connected the group to country singer Faith Hill. Amazed by their youthful show-stopping dance moves and heavenly voices, Hill embraced Tribbett and his choir instantly and invited them to join her on tour. Tribbett has since released several chart toppers, including the megahit “Victory,” which has successfully spanned generations linking them to a new style of gospel music.

Tribbett will be accompanied by veteran songstress Vickie Winans who’s mark in the realm of gospel music spans 20 years. Winans has delivered 10 CD projects throughout her career, while racking up a host of awards and recognitions for her music of inspiration, hope and healing. Her ability to relate to fans by sharing her real-life struggles has made a true icon in the industry. Singing her first solo in church at age eight, Winans has evolved into one of the hardest working women in gospel music.
