Bishop T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House Mass Choir Win Two Stellar Awards

Bishop T.D. Jakes, who was hailed as America's most popular preacher in a 2001 Time magazine cover story, and his Potter's House Mass Choir have won two Stellar Awards for their latest CD “Grace – Live in Kenya” (Dexterity Records/Rhino Entertainment). The project won the ensemble Choir of the Year and Traditional Choir of the Year. The Stellar Awards will be broadcast in syndication from now through February 2008. 

"What a pleasure and a privilege to record the Grace project in Kenya," Bishop Jakes said when the project was released. “The CD will always remind me of the people of Kenya, and will stand as a stirring testament to our missionary work in that country and around the world.  

Recorded live in Kenya, Africa before a staggering outdoor audience one million strong, the project boasts 13 powerful songs crafted for Sunday morning worship services. The project's radio smash 'Grace', is a congregational sing-a-long song featuring Bishop Jakes rapping the lyrics in his passionate baritone as the choir oohs and aahs behind him. The music video was also popular on video channels such as BET and Music Choice. 

Bishop Jakes' Dallas-based Potter's House Church has a membership of over 30,000 members and a host of community-oriented ministries. He and The Potter's House Mass Choir have released three other hit CDs, including the Grammy-winning 2003 project, “A Wing and a Prayer.” Based in Burbank, California, Warner Music Group's Rhino Entertainment develops, markets, and promotes both audio and video products from the vast WMG catalog and through new productions with established artists.
