Cynthia Jones, Gospel's Lady of Neo Soul Receives Prestige Award

Raleigh, North Carolina - Cynthia Jones, Gospel's Lady of Neo Soul, whose new CD "Gotta Soul" (Kingdom Records/Universal Music Group) is in stores now, was honored recently with a North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild 2008 Prestige Award for Jazz Artist of the Year. Cynthia received the award at the North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild's 10th Annual Convention at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons, Joseph Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC.

The four day event kicked off last Wednesday, a little more than a week after Cynthia's new CD "Gotta Soul " dropped. The first single and video from the new CD is also named "Gotta Soul" and it had already been receiving rave reviews and heavy airplay across the country. "Gotta Soul" debuted at #41 on the Billboard Gospel Chart in its first week. Cynthia's CD Release Party was held on Saturday, April 26 at the Upper Room COGIC in Raleigh, North Carolina. Cynthia entertained her fans with a live concert featuring some of the new songs from her new CD in advance of its release. Also performing with Cynthia during her CD Release Party were Kiara Miller (Stellar Awards Nominee), The Upper Room Sanctuary Choir and the Creatively Speaking Mime Team.
