New York, NY – Zomba Gospel received three out of the five nominations in the Best Gospel Artist category for the 2008 BET Awards, with Marvin Sapp, Kirk Franklin and Deitrick Haddon each receiving a nod.

Marvin Sapp’s “Never Would Have Made It,” has broken barriers as the longest running #1 radio single across all genres.  Currently in the #1 position at gospel radio for 33 weeks and Top-10 at Urban AC radio, the single shows no signs of slowing down.  Additionally Sapp’s CD, THIRSTY, is this week’s “Greatest Gainer” on the R&B/Hip Hop album charts where it is #8.   Marvin Sapp will perform “Never Would Have Made It” on the BET Awards.

Kirk Franklin is the top-selling gospel artist in Soundscan history, and is currently enjoying the success of his 10th CD THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE.   Franklin has performed his edgy first single, “Declaration (This Is It)”, on The Today Show, Regis & Kelly, The View, The NAACP Image Awards, and more.  Franklin is one of the most recognizable names in gospel music.

Deitrick Haddon is a trendsetting gospel artist who consistently pushes the envelope of innovative musical styles.  His last CD release, 7 Days, contained the singles “Heaven Knows” and “Don’t Go”, both which continue to be gospel radio favorites.  This summer, Haddon releases a new CD titled REVEALED.

The BET Awards airs live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on June 24.
