New York, NY -- Noted gospel music artist DARWIN HOBBS has announced plans to launch "The Call - A Community for the Creative," a brand new community for worship leaders worldwide. Through the medium of bi-weekly telephone conference calls, Hobbs will initiate this new forum for worship leaders, ministers of music and musicians every other Monday starting on Monday, August 26, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST. To confirm your participation for the conference call, please email Darwin Hobbs at DarwinHobbs@msn.com. Once you are confirmed to participate, you will be sent the conference call number and the bi-weekly agenda.

"I remember the days before I became a recording artist when I'd hope and pray for something like this," comments Hobbs on how he came up with the idea for this new community. "There seems to be such a lack of true community within the music industry and ministry today. My goal is to offer an outlet for people like me who know what time it is in God who are serious about maximizing their God given potential through pursuing intimacy with the Father and also developing healthy relationships within the music and arts community."

Hobbs' hopes "The Call - A Community for the Creative," will meet numerous goals for those participating in the bi-weekly discussions. Participants will benefit from various areas such as the development of quality relationships within one's peer group; network opportunities; gainful knowledge concerning music industry practices, policies, laws, and procedures; encouragement and prayer; accountability; and serve as a platform for the sharing of ideas and help with the implementation of those ideas. Callers will also have instant access to many well-known and established leaders in the music/art ministry. As a bonus, surprise celebrity and executive guest callers-including pastors, entertainment attorneys, artists, producers, songwriters, managers and publicists-will take part in the discussion. In addition, an online community will be developed to further "The Call's goals and mission.

The platform for "The Call -A Community for the Creative," will also include discussions focusing on business/label development, "independent versus label artistry," songwriting, publishing deals, artist deals, development deals, album recording processes (especially live albums for churches), and much more. The mini empowerment sessions will concentrate on: worship as a lifestyle; effective worship leading in the corporate church setting; personal growth/development; victorious living; vision casting; self-esteem; depression/anxiety and much more.

As a highly-respected worship leader and world-renowned gospel recording artist, Hobbs is qualified to serve in this new role as moderator of "The Call." Currently, a great deal of his attention is focused on consulting with worship and arts departments worldwide. As a service of Hobbs' newly-formed company Liaison Creative, he offers consultation to senior pastors and music departments who desire cutting edge music ministry without the necessity of a "celebrity personality" as the leader. The consummate worship leader/singer/songwriter believes simple and effective training will maximize the potential and abilities of those currently serving within these departments. With both spiritual and practical approaches and content, Hobbs has developed a plan of action that is sure to prove effective in any setting, no matter how big or small the congregation and no matter the budget. He strongly believes that at the end of the day, the undeniable presence of God will address any and all issues at hand successfully. "A well balanced music/arts department has both anointing and skill as prerequisites for prospective members," says Hobbs. In addition to offering case by case consultations, Hobbs recently resumed his assignment as Worship Leader for Bishop Eddie Long's 26,000-member New Birth Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to his consulting responsibilities, Hobbs will release his fifth CD, FREE, a 12-track praise and worship album in stores August 26, 2008 on Tyscot/Liaison Records. The project includes the new single, "Free," a heartfelt song penned by Hobbs that addresses the acclaimed artists' newfound sense of freedom following his disclosure about a 30-year secret of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of his mother's now deceased husband.

A Cincinnati native, Hobbs' phenomenal, God-given gift for singing was discovered at age 10 -- on his first day in the church choir. He sang constantly throughout his childhood and adolescence, in church and school, both as a soloist and in various ensembles. Hobbs' catalog includes four CDs released through EMI Gospel including his successful 1999 debut, MERCY, the sophomore follow-up, VERTICAL released in 2001, selling over 100,000 copies, followed by BROKEN and THE BEST OF DARWIN HOBBS.
