If one takes a look at the Billboard gospel sales chart, the names that appear most frequently such as John P. Kee or Hezekiah Walker have been recording for over 20 years. Or in the case of Shirley Caesar, well over 40 years. However, there are two new brilliant projects on the market destined to represent the next generation of gospel music in a big way and Dr. Bobby Jones is showcasing them both on his hit Gospel Music Channel program “Next Generation” this Sunday, August 10, 2008 @ 8:00 PM.

In 1994, twelve-year-old Bryan Wilson thrilled the gospel world with his spine-tingling rendition of  “His Eye on the Sparrow” with the Mississippi Children's Choir. What followed were Dove and Stellar award nominations, two solo CDS and tours with a who's who of gospel artists. After a voice change and time off for college at Princeton University , the now 26 year old Wilson is back with his first CD since 1999: A Second Coming on his own Bryan 's Songs recording label. Wilson and the Atlanta Praise Choir do a rousing rendition of his new radio single “Just Do Something” on the show. Jones says, “That was one of the most exciting performances of the whole season.”

Stellar Award winner Jonathan Nelson is also a youth to watch. He's since written a half dozen Top Ten gospel hits such as Youth for Christ's “The Struggle is Over” which spent 12 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart and Donald Lawrence's “Healed.”

Nelson is now making his major label CD debut with Right Now Praise on Integrity Music. Nelson and his group, Purpose, perform his Top Ten smash “My Name is Victory” and the jolting track “Champions” on the show. For more information, log on at www.gospelmusicchannel.com/bobbyjones.
