Grammy-award nominated smooth jazz gospel artist/pianist Angie Winans will reveal her private grieving process after the death of her beloved brother Ronald in a moving new book entitled A Love that Heals: Letting God’s Love Give You Hope in Times of Grief (Howard Books/Simon & Schuster $13.99 List). The book helps readers connect with Angie's personal journey through grief, while helping them deal with their own loss.
“I was not an author and never thought I would be,” Winans confesses of her decision to write a book. “I received therapy in writing about what I was feeling when Ronald died. I was so hurt that I needed answers from God as to why Ronald had to leave us. Then, when I received the answers and the comfort of God, I wanted to share it with others so that they wouldn’t hurt like that.”

Love is a simple but powerful word, and in A Love that Heals, Winans outlines common principles that will help any grieving heart understand that the love of God provides true resolution. The same love that causes so much pain in loss is also the same love that can heal, so long as readers let it. Winans uncovers the many facets of love, including celebration, hope, and healing power. One of the leading session vocalists in the 1990s, Winans has also arranged backing vocals on artists such as Destiny Child's Michelle Williams and gospel powerhouse Donnie McClurkin. As Angie and Debbie (with her sister),Winans released two best-selling CDs. The first featured their R&B smash "Light of Love" and the second shot to #3 on Billboard's sales chart. In 2001, she showed her gifts as a pianist and smooth jazz artist on her solo CD debut"Melodies of My Heart" which was nominated for a Grammy award. She has since collaborated with Bishop T.D.
