Los Angeles, CA - 40 Entertainment's Urban Inspirational singer/songwriter Dayna Caddell was selected as a finalist in the Gospel category of the 2008 Session-l John Lennon Songwriting Contest for "You Got A Friend," it was announced today.

You Got A Friend, written by Dayna Caddell and produced by Warryn "Baby Dubb" Campbell, was one of the songs chosen in the Gospel/Inspirational category out of 36 categories (three in each category) from rock, R&B, country, electronic, Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin and more.

Recently landing a song slot in Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys, collaborating with producers Eric Dawkins and Vann Clayton, Dayna is finally getting her due.

Her versatility has afforded her the opportunity to sing studio background vocals for Diana Ross' Super Bowl celebration performance, and appear on The Tonight Show singing background for pop artist Bisou Phillips.

She also had the opportunity to study under and perform with the incredible legendary Nancy Wilson who commented, "This lady has the most interesting sound. It's like no other. She appears to be comfortable doing what she does. She's incredible."

As she prepares to embark on what she calls "my life dream" Dayna Caddell sets out in bold and new creative directions with her avidly-awaited studio album Overjoyed (June 2009 release), produced by award-winning hit makers Warryn Campbell, Aaron Lindsey, Eric Dawkins and Vann Clayton, this is perhaps the most personal and revelatory collection of songs she has written to date.
