Atlanta, GA: The Allstate Gospel Superfest will convene at the Atlanta Civic Center in two short weeks (Saturday, November 1, 2008) with some of the top names in inspirational music and entertainment, scheduled to host the event are Flex Alexander (CW), Clifton Davis (AMEN), LEXI (The Word Network) and Deleon Sheffield (Gospel Recording Artists), in the midst of featuring artists like Mary Mary, John P. Kee, Hezekiah Walker, Kurt Carr, Martha Munizzi, Kierra Ki Ki Sheard, The Williams Brothers, Byron Cage and many others, all eyes will be on the first voice you will hear this year. That of Carla Tolbert Taylor, this year's Allstate Gospel Superfest Opening Act Contest Grand Prize winner.

United Television, announced today that by an overwhelming margin, Carla won clear handedly as votes were collected from Judges and gospel fans around the nation. Hundreds of soloists auditioned as The Superfest, traveled to six cities in search of this year's opener. The Allstate Gospel Superfest Opening Act tour began at the Historic Apollo Theater in New York City and traveled to DC, St. Louis, Dallas, Memphis and Birmingham. Carla will grace one of America's largest stages at the historic Atlanta Civic Center, when the curtain rises for the 10th international TV taping of The Allstate Gospel Superfest. The show will be filmed for several TV networks and national syndication. The first of which will air beginning December 1, 2008 through January 4, 2009.
