Traditional Gospel with a Nu Twist! Tyscot Records will launch their new album Tuesday, October 21st in stores everywhere! Atlanta, GA – A rare and special gathering of young adults have come together to form a singing group like no other – Nu Tradition! EXPLANATION? “Because we are a new choir and love traditional music,” declares one of the members. Their different brand of music has already been showcased on The Bobby Jones Gospel Show and in various concert settings around the nation. On the heels of this early success, Tyscot Records will launch their new album Tuesday, October 21st in stores everywhere. Artists featured on the CD include some of Gospel music’s finest ‘praise and worship’ leaders such as Dr. Judith Christie McAllister, Lamar Campbell, Rev. Lawrence Thomison and more. The brainchild behind this clever project is versatile producer Austin Moore. He adds: “I think this is one of the most amazing groups I have come in contact with.” The group is made of young people ages 20-35 from various southern US cities. Moore concludes with “Their talents and gifts speak volumes. If you like traditional music, then this album is a must have. It is something that all ministers of music will love to cherish.” This is Moore’s first full production, though he has spent many years playing and recording with Dr. Bobby Jones, Dorothy Norwood, Juanita Bynum and serving as music director in the BET House band. “Our songs can be sung at Sunday morning services or any choir concert”, says Nathan Young, one of the founding members. “It will make you clap, dance and shout. We are taking you to church with our mix of old-time favorites as well as new contemporary tunes.” Their first hit “Victory Shall Be Mine” is already gaining airplay across the nation. The group was inspired by the vision of the oldest living active Bishop in the Church of God in Christ, 96-year-old Bishop A.T. Moore of Louisville, KY. Nu Tradition’s fans can check out weekly postings of video blogs on their myspace page www.myspace.com/nutradition and Tyscot’s www.myspace.com/tyscotrecords and Youtube. The purpose of these blogs is to give their fans a chance to meet each member and to get their message from their ministry. Within the members of Nu Tradition they have worked with some of Gospel’s top artists including Dr. Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Ron Kenoly, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Shirley Caesar, RiZen, Rickey Dillard and New G, The Clark Sisters and Prophetess Juanita Bynum. “This is the most powerful album I’ve ever sung on. The single is very inspirational, encouraging and uplifting. In times like these, the people need to hear that no matter what the circumstance, Victory Is Mine.”—Grammy-Award nominee, Rev. Lawrence Thomison. “I would classify the Nu Tradition Sound as the sound of the present with the heart of the past. There’s nothing like hearing good Gospel music done in a fresh way without losing the soul and roots of tradition. You’re gonna’ love it.” – Praise & Worship Leader, Lamar Campbell. |
