Ladies and Gentleman, it is with great pleasure, that we present to you, the 44th president of the United States, PRESIDENT BARACK H. OBAMA!!!

There is no need to pinch yourself. This is not a dream. You have just witnessed HISTORY! Some are calling this day, January 20th, 2009, the unofficial African American Holiday. What an amazing day! And how appropriate, that this will come on the day after Martin Luther King's birthday.

People from far and wide, all nationalities, creeds, shapes, sizes, young and old packed the streets of our Nations Capital. Planes, trains, and automobiles was certainly the topic of discussion as people flooded the city, even in the early hours of the morning.. Over 40,000 law enforcement personnel were on the streets to ensure the safety of our president and the millions of people who were in attendance to be a part of this day in history. The sky was sunny as some people waited over 3 to 8 hours to get on the train from Virginia to D.C.. Many said that it was worth braving the cold, traffic, long lines, and congestion, to experience this historical day.

This is truly a spectacular event, being viewed on television, cellular phones and internet sites by people from all over the world. People are putting politics aside, and celebrating together. No matter what their political views are, people are celebrating, with the expectancy of renewal and change. The reaction of many people that we spoke to, is that people really do want to see President Barack Obama be successful while in office, even if they didn't vote for him. Complete strangers were joining in conversation and hugging each other. This is not something that you see everyday. It seems that the American people, for just one day, wanted to be united. Many were overcome with emotion and tears of joy.

Many of our grandparents and parents would've never thought that they would see the day that an African American president and family, would occupy the White House.
