Ricky Dillard Takes Home Two Stellar Awards

Celebrating one of his most successful albums to date, 7th EPISODE: LIVE IN TORONTO, Ricky Dillard received two Stellar Gospel Music Awards this weekend in Nashville.

Dillard was honored for the amazing album in both the Choir of the Year and Contemporary Choir of the Year categories. This year's Awards capped off a great year including Dillard's first-ever GMA Dove Award nomination in the Traditional Gospel Recorded Song category for "The Light."

The smash album was released on Dillard's own Animated Entertainment imprint, NuSpring Records with distribution through EMI Gospel, and it is a must-have for any Gospel music fan. Showcasing what makes Ricky Dillard who he is, this album is chock-full of energy, excitement and power that only he can bring forth.

Dillard brings his unique artistry to this project bringing the flare and spirit of Chicago worship and praise that is his foundation. Teaming up with his choir, NEW G, Dillard offers high-energy and powerful praise jams including the hugely popular and Top 5 gospel song, "The Light," his current single "One More Chance" and the beautiful "Our Father You Are Holy."

Born, raised & highly symbolic of the Chicago music scene, Dillard is an icon of Gospel choir music and a musical force. Dillard began at an early age directing the youth choir in his church (at the age of five) and has drawn inspiration from Rev. Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Singers; Dr. Mattie Moss Clark; Dr. Charles G. Hayes, and Thomas Whitfield. His soulful and powerful sound has been instantly recognizable since his debut in the early 90's.
