"I am excited about the partnership with Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr. on THE BEST OF GOSPEL SUPERFEST CD. Gospel music has always been important to our family and through this CD, hopefully we will inspire and touch the lives of thousands of people all over the world who will enjoy some of the best performers in Gospel Music," states Mathew Knowles, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment/Spirit Rising Music.

Gospel Superfest TV specials are now carried by several broadcast and cable networks including TBN, The Gospel Music Channel, The Word Network, The Daystar TV Network and ION Media Networks. Gospel Superfest has become one of the top national events dedicated to black gospel music television, its production, expansion and most importantly, its preservation. Backed by some of the largest corporations in America, Gospel Superfest TV has been seen by millions of viewers during its illustrious ten year history.

"I am very honored to release this compilation DVD/CD with the Musicworld/Spirit Rising organization," says Dr. Cartwright. "And I thank Mr. Knowles for making this project come to life. Some of the Gospel Superfest's most dynamic performances are on this inaugural DVD/CD. It is truly a must have for any gospel music enthusiast."

In 1998, Dr. Cartwright received a vision from God to produce a national TV show that would accomplish several things-expand the gospel music TV landscape, uplift and inspire TV audiences around the world and offer opportunities for new and up-and-coming gospel artists. This was a huge task for someone who had never produced a national TV show, and also had no contacts to call upon to get a quick tutorial. However, with much contemplation, some reservation at first, but practicing faith, the Gospel Superfest was implemented as a three-day festival in the city of Louisville, KY. Eleven years later, Gospel Superfest has become the most widely distributed urban gospel TV show in history and the highest-rated black gospel TV show in syndication (cumulatively speaking) for four consecutive years. It's the only gospel production in syndication, to originate from the entertainment capital of the world (New York City) for three consecutive years (2004, 2005 and 2006). Somehow, this then novice production team, with this God given vision, pulled off what many deemed as impossible.
