Ground Breaking Sophomore Album Earns Two Greatest Gainer Titles On Billboard Charts

Hit Single “I Trust You” Makes Recording History With 29 Week Run At #1

New York City - Black Smoke Music/WorldWide recording artists James Fortune & FIYA celebrated their biggest chart gains with their ground-breaking sophomore album The Transformation. Peaking at #3 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart, The Transformation claimed a “Greatest Gainer” title in its 39th week on the chart. After six weeks on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart, The Transformation earned another “Greatest Gainer” title, soaring from #47 to #14 and remains the only Gospel album in the Top 50 Independent Albums, holding steadfast at #14 in its seventh week. The Transformation continues to perform strongly on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, solidifying its place in the Top 50 at #43 in its ninth week.

After being the top recording on the Gospel National Airplay chart for 29-weeks, “I Trust You,” the second single from The Transformation, officially became the longest running #1 hit single for any genre, eclipsing Marvin Sapp’s six-month run at the top spot with “Never Would Have Made It.” Its 60th week on the chart, the spiritual anthem has maintained its place as the #2 single for the last two weeks. Remaining in the Top 50 at #24, “I Trust You” enters its fifteenth week on the Urban AC National Airplay chart.

In just a few years, James Fortune & FIYA has gone from empowering youth in the Greater Houston area to uplifting millions with their nationally acclaimed debut album You Survived! , released in September 2004.
