GMC Renews Superfest for Two Additional Seasons; DeLeon Sheffield to Host Atlanta — GMC, America’s favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, announced today that it will renew SUPERFEST for two additional, 26-episode seasons. DeLeon Sheffield, gospel star, Grammy Award nominee and wife of baseball star Gary Sheffield, will host the series. Founded in 2000, SUPERFEST has become one of the leading TV properties in faith-based inspirational entertainment and the live recording event is a must-stop on the annual gospel events calendar. The new GMC series is executive produced by Superfest founder Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr. SUPERFEST will bring viewers the best performances of the highly celebrated Gospel Superfest concert series, featuring Grammy and Stellar winners Richard Smallwood and J. Moss as well as Grammy winners Karen Clark Sheard, Hezekiah Walker, Kiki Sheard, and Regina Belle. Other performers include Trin-i-tee 5:7, The Whispers, Mary Mary, Shirley Murdock, Byron Cage, Dorinda Clarke Cole and several others. Cartwright said, “SUPERFEST will have a fresh new look and feel. This will be a very special hour of entertainment for gospel music fans and GMC viewers. It’s a diverse and eclectic hour of musical entertainment, ranging from gospel, R&B, Broadway to hip-hop to quartet and more.”
