Gospel Superfest Teams Up with NY Church to Help Katrina Evacuees

Duo Host Christmas Toy Drive for Young Victims of Hurricane Katrina

New York, NY. - Gospel Superfest Television is teaming up with the Christian Cultural Center to gather toys for children affected by Hurricane Katrina. The toys will be collected during the week of the national television taping of Gospel Superfest New York , to be held on October 28 th and 29, 2005. Officials announced today that they will collect toy donations on the premises of the Brooklyn-based, Christian Cultural Center, under the leadership of Dr. A.R. Bernard, Pastor, between on Sunday October 23 rd – Sunday, October 30, 2005. All items will be distributed in Mississippi before the Christmas holiday.

All attendees of this year's Gospel Superfest taping are asked to bring one toy, for either a girl or a boy. “This is one way we can participate in the many needed fund raising efforts happening around the country, and know that we are touching lives,” said Executive Producer and Founder of Gospel Superfest , Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr. He added, “Many children will be without normalcy for many months and for some maybe even a lifetime. We feel Gospel Superfest can and should use its resources in this area, to help our brothers and sisters in the hurricane effected region.”

Gospel Superfest will partner with its Gulf region affiliates WXXV-TV_25 (FOX) of Gulf Port , MS and WHLT-TV-22 (CBS) in Hattiesburg , MS for local distribution of the toys. A collection station will be set up on the campus of the Christian Cultural Center beginning at 8:00 AM on Sunday October 23, 2005 and will be available daily during Gospel Superfest week in New York . All New York residents and out-of-town Gospel Superfest attendees are encouraged to donate new toys for this cause.

Officials from both organizations are hoping to collect a truck load of toys, which will ultimately be a blessing to the children in that area.

Timothy Wright & The New York Fellowship Mass Choir, and many others .
