Gospel Superfest
New York City - On Friday and Saturday October 27th and 28th, 2006 the producers of Gospel Superfest Television accomplished their third consecutive New York City session with a flair and production level rarely seen in gospel music television. It was a two-day musical explosion that will be remembered by its attendees and soon TV viewers for many years to come. Over thirty-eight national recording artists (R & B and gospel) took the stage as Gospel Superfest TV completed an unprecedented three-year run in America’s number one market. The spirit was high as Tye Tribbett, Tonex, Hezekiah Walker & LFC, Melvin Williams, Karen Clark Sheard, Howard Hewett, Ricky Dillard & New G, John Cook, The 7 Sons of Soul, Trin-i-tee 5:7, J. Moss, Martha Munizzi, Gary Anglin, 21:03 and The Anointed Pace Sisters, all turned in unforgettable performances. The show took a new look and spin as two awards for lifetime achievement were handed out instead of its normal solo award. An award for Civic and Religious Accomplishments (Dr. A. R. Bernard Recipient /Pastor of CCC) was added this year while The Lifetime Achievement Award in Gospel Music went to the legendary Williams Brothers.

Hosts Vivica A. Fox (ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, Missing, Kill Bill, Independence Day) and mainstay host Clifton Davis (Amen, Any Given Sunday, The Painting, The Climb), were in rare form, and interacted with the audience throughout the night. Vivica made a comedic reference to her early exit on “Dancing With The Stars” with a dance illustration, while Davis looked on in amazement. The audience loved it. It was a two-day historic event that will be embedded in the unique body of works that Gospel Superfest Television has garnered during its illustrious first eight years of world class TV production. The nation’s most widely distributed TV show in gospel music lived up to its reputation, as the set (spectacular), the lights (incredible) and overall presentation took gospel music television to an all new level.
