Pillar Frontman Rob Beckley Hosts Golf Tournament For Xxxchurch

Participants Include MercyMe, Relient K, Spoken, Disciple, and TobyMac

Nashville, Tenn - Rob Beckley, lead singer for Pillar, will host a charity golf tournament at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Okla. on June 6. The event, to be attended by some of the biggest artists in contemporary Christian music, will help raise money for XXXChurch.

An avid XXXChurch supporter, Beckley encourages interested participants to place a bid on their favorite artist. Winning bids will join the likes of MercyMe, Relient K, Spoken, Disciple as well as TobyMac for a round of golf.

“This is going to be a pretty radical day,” Beckley says, “I can’t wait to see what happens when rock ‘n roll and golf collide to raise awareness about pornography. Now that’s something to talk about!”

Mike Foster, co-founder of XXXchurch says, “Having bands like Pillar talk about issues and write songs about topics like pornography have helped raise awareness of this problem. We are so thrilled that they are using their platform to help this cause. We just hope the ‘Bible Belt’ is ready for us!” Foster, along with fellow pastor Craig Gross, will be in Tulsa, Okla. on June 6. Register online for the tournament at www.togobox.net/x3.

XXXchurch.com was started in 2002 by California pastors Craig Gross and Mike Foster. It is an Internet-only ministry aimed at helping people who struggle with pornography. “We noticed the number of kids in our youth groups with porn-related problems growing rapidly,” says Craig Gross. “Since we set up the Web site, more than 170,000 people have downloaded our anti-porn software. People are beginning to realize that porn can be addictive.” More information on XXXChurch can be found at www.XXXchurch.com.

Since the band’s Dove Award-winning 2001 debut Above, Flicker Records artist Pillar has seen unprecedented success in every aspect of its career. With five No. 1 radio singles and seven Top 5 hits to its credit, Pillar has earned an additional two Dove Awards, headlined five national tours, performed for more than two million people, and been featured on the covers of Radio & Records, Rockline Magazine, CCM Magazine, 7ball Magazine, Breakaway Magazine, HM Magazine, and Christian Retailing Magazine. The band has also received print coverage in Rolling Stone, Spin, Bass Player, and Hit Parader.
